County School Board Names Superintendent Finalists
Board met in Executive Session all day Saturday

Carroll County School Superintendent John Zauner will be retiring in a few months prompting a search by the school board to replace him. The county board met in executive session all day Saturday and narrowed their list of replacement candidates for the school system's superintendent job to three people:
- Scott Cowart
- Christie Johnson
- Kathleen Rogers
According to a Monday press release, ".. applications of the candidates may be seen at the Board of Education Office located at 164 Independence Drive, Carrollton, Ga."
Local connections
Each of the finalists have local ties to the Carroll County School System. Scott Cowart is a former Central High School Principal; Christie Johnson is the system's current Assistant Superintendent for Administration; and Kathleen Rogers is the system's current Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction.
Public input sought
The county school board will receive public input on the search at their February 18th work session at 6:30 p.m. and the new superintendent will be chosen from the list above at a future meeting of the board.
